JA Recruitment consultants rating: Level 1

BEE rating levels help to categorise the BEE contributor status and thus compliance with the requirements in terms of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment or B-BBEE. Businesses with excellent BEE rating levels benefit from access to preferential procurement and government licences. With the standardised rating levels it is possible to give businesses that contribute towards the goals of B-BBEE proof of their status and compliance through a scorecard system:

• Level 1 contributors must have 100 or above points on their BEE scorecards and the businesses receive 135% procurement status
• Level 2 contributors must have a BEE score of 85 to 99.00 and receive 125% procurement recognition
• Level 3 contributors have 75 to 84.99 on their scorecards and receive 110% procurement recognition
• Level 4 contributors have 65 to 74.99 points and receive 100% procurement recognition
• Level 5 contributors have 55 to 64.99 on their scorecards and receive procurement recognition of 99.80%
• Level 6 is marked at 45 to 54.99 and procurement recognition at 60%
• Level 7 contributors have 40-44.99 on their scorecards with 50% procurement recognition
• Level 8 contributors have 30-39.99 with 10% procurement recognition
• From Level 4 to Level 1 are considered as fully compliant
• On the lowest end of the scale are businesses with less than 30% on the scorecard and they receive 0% procurement recognition with the status of Non-Compliant.
